We received a donation from a very generous individual of a 2000 Honda Insight. This is Honda's first attempt in hybrid design, the gentlemen who donated the vehicle had driven the car over 180,000 miles averaging over 62mpg for the life of the vehicle. He had just completed a 250 mile ride that averaged exactly 70mpg. This is awesome. Our first step to deliver hybrid training for our students.
Mr. March and myself have just complete some hybrid training at Ford for the new 2010 Fusion. We are planning on attending training with Honda and Toyota by years end. This will allow us to deliver the newest technology to our students so they are prepared for the future.

40th ANNUAL United Associated NHRA SUPER-NATIONALS.
The Transportation Technologies Management department was proud to offer an opportunity for our students to go to the NHRA Super-Nationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway in Englishtown New Jersey. The US Army provide free tickets for all our students and we provided
the transportation.
The trip allowed our students to see what it must be like for a professional dragster team to compete in a nationally televised event. Students got to see what it took to be a technician for a team from adjusting the clutch, to rebuilding the heads after each run. For most of our students this was their first time at a “real” drag race and their reaction to the noise and action was amazing. To see a car approach speeds of 330 miles per hours is a sight to behold for anyone, but for our students who some have never driven a car it proved to spark their interest in engine performance. It also showed them how important it is to understand what a good education can do for them.
